I am so obsessed with the comfort and style of the "boyfriend jean". I decided to give it a whirl with the khaki! I think it adds a little something more to the look and I am incredibly happy with the results. It also doesn't hurt that this ensemble is the result of some serious bargain shopping...nice cheap clothes always make it that much sweeter!

Sleep Deprived.....

I've had these skinny jeans tucked away in the closet for months now. I just joined Weardrobe and while perusing the site fell in love with (yet another new look for me) boots over the jeans look. Took a chance, dusted off the skinny jeans and gave it a whirl!

**No post yesterday, awesome husband took the day off and whisked me away for our 11th year anniversary! We flew down to the peninsula and had a fantastic day of just hanging out, we never get to just dink around with no agenda. We ended up hooking up with some friends later in the day and ended up fishing ALL NIGHT! Surviving with about 3 hrs of sleep here! Well worth it though, I had a great day with my most awesome man.

If I had to pick out a favorite pair of jeans that I own, this pair would be one of the finalist's. They make me feel like a tough girl/rebel...which I am definitely NOT! It's fun to pretend though. I tried to take the tough girl look a little further today with the black and silver accessories, the off kilter button job, and the bare shoulder. :)

Is anyone else feeling the fall vibe of this outfit? I have to say it felt great slipping into a pair of tight and boots. Fall is approaching and I am not so opposed to the idea. It has been an incredible summer but thoughts of crunchy leaves, brisk air, cozy evenings, and sipping hot tea while snuggled into the couch seem to be invading my mind these days.

I'm wearing my "boyfriend jeans" again today and I think I love them even more than last time! I had to drive about an hour and a half one way to pick up my daughter from camp so I wanted to be comfy for the long day in the car. GEEZ, I missed her, I am so glad she's home. On the way home we pulled over and she snapped a few shots for the blog.

double pockets...

Maybe I am just not up to date on there new styles of cardigans and their pockets. I recently ordered this cardigan from the J-Crew final sale. I really love the short sleeves and the retro print but when I put it on I noticed that there are two small pockets, one on top of the other on the right hand side. There are no pockets on the left. Is this a manufacturer oopsie or is it supposed to be this way? I am going to believe it is supposed to be that way for an interesting twist! :)

It is cold and blustery ouside today. I needed comfort this morning. I have not done the "boyfriend jean" look yet. I have been on the prowl for a pair at the thrift store and a couple of weeks ago I hit the jackpot!!! I found these Seven for all Mankind's in the mens section for $3.50!!! I was stoked. The only thing that could have made it better was if it had been on $1 day. I love this look and am wondering how I can replicate it without doing the exact same thing. I am also wondering if I need to do a little distressing to the jeans. Any ideas?

Thrift store bravery.....

This is a great example of the "thrift store bravery". I saw this top(or whatever it is) at the thrift store on $1 day and thought ....why not, it's only a dollar! I like the look, comfort and thriftiness of the outfit, my only concern is that I may look preggers or wearing a mu-mu! What do you think...Yay or Nay?

Weekend getaway...

Here are a couple examples of my attire on the weekends. We own a cabin up in the Talkeetna mountains that is bordered by two creeks. It is fantabulous to have somewhere to getaway from it all and just be. We fly there most every weekend in the summer and try to snowmachine out to it as much as possible in the winter. I LOVE my magenta alaska shirt. It was designed by a local guy here and I bought it at a "fly in" (small planes fly to a designated place for a show) in Valdez. Can you spot all of the things hidden in the state.....This shirt sums up my blessed life. Have fun hunting.....
