Goodbye frumpy housewife.....

Wow! So how long has it been? Life happens and I'm not gonna lie, I slipped back into a jeans and sweatshirt housewife mama. The weather here in Alaska has been less than super ALL SUMMER LONG  and crazy busyness seems to be all around me. Enough excuses already!

Lately I have been feeling frumpy and disheveled, under appreciated and overworked* but you know, it's funny thing how your mood and perspective changes when you are wearing something you love, something that screams, this is me, this is who I am! I began to realize this little gem of knowledge DUH why didn't anybody tell me before, oh wait you probably did. when I really started to miss all of you and the daily regimen of fashion blogging. I started rummaging through the archives of outfits I had put together and I started to "get it". If I dress like a frumpy housewife, I'm going to feel and act like one. Hmmmm... Concept! I am sure I could get really deep and apply this to all sorts of other scenarios in my life, but for now we will stick to fashion. I experimented with my new found revelation and "dressed up Danielle" for about a week. The results were amazing, I felt better, got more done, and the little skip was back in my step.

Yesterday was the first day I documented and boy am I out of practice. I feel like I have to relearn everything about fashion blogging again. I am feeling anxious about what to write, and I couldn't pose for anything, every picture I took either looked completely scary or like I was 12 posing for Great Aunt Sally. Fashion Blogging is truly a form of art. Here's to my new beginning to the blog.

 Cheers....

Dress: OLD ???
Cardigan: Old Navy
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: Converse, Thrifted

*note: I have not been walking around like a depressed zombie, I have actually been having a great summer with loads of Alaskan adventures but I just felt a little less me. I am not by any means overworked or unappreciated either, my husband and family are amazingly supportive of me. It is just the cloud over my head sometimes...maybe it is a woman thing or a housewife thing?

**Also A big Thank you to all of the sweet comments I received asking about my return to blogland, they are most appreciated.

  10. Sooo excited to have you back!! Yea! Don't feel bad about the jeans and sweatshirt "thing." Like you said, "Life happens!" As a fellow SAHM, there are MANY days that I practically LIVE in my gym clothes....sometimes, you just have to go with what's practical for that "season of your life." Crazy, Busy schedules may not warrant dresses and heels....especially when your child has a science project that involves MUD! LOL! Anywho, I am quite sure even in your jeans and sweatshirt you looked FAB-U-LOUS!! So happy to have you back...now I can look and YOUR outfit cuteness on those days that I am in gym clothes and MY dresses and heels are tucked away! LOL!

  12. I'm so glad you are back. I saw your blog on a post about good blogs that were dormant. I live someplace that is cold all year, so it is nice to see examples of how to be fashionably bundled up :)
