Nurture your mind with great thoughts, for you will never go any higher than you think...Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881).
With Fall having been here for a bit and winter knocking on the door I am having a hard time with my wardrobe. I enter my closet wanting to create something that I LOVE and will make me feel confident and sassy, and lately I just can't seem to connect the two.....I blame this on all of you of course! I think my style has evolved and changed (for the better) over the course of this blog which was mainly summer. My usual winter staples of jeans and a sweater are just not cutting it anymore, YEAH!!!! The downside is that I can't just go out and buy a new wardrobe...sad face. Officially declaring this the great closet cleanout of 2009, consign as much as possible, become more creative with the pieces that I do LOVE and see where it gets me.
I did LOVE this little number I threw on this morning. I wore this dress in early fall and decided to try a winter take on it. Mixed it up with the brown and black and brought it down to a casual level with the denim. I couldn't decide on what to do with the scarf and just kept tying knots, ended up really liking the necklace vibe.

People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character....Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
This outfit consists of two pieces in my closet that I've had for a while but have had a hard time putting them into rotation. I have only worn them each once, here and here. Who knew that if paired together I would LOVE it! I am pleased with how this matches but really doesn't. The floatiness of this skress (skirt/dress) makes me smile. I think it would make a fantastic sundress on a beach somewhere tropical, and of course a cocktail with an umbrella in it in hand. Hmmmmmm......Alaska Airlines website is only a click away...

If you must speak ill of another, do not speak it, write it in the sand near the water's edge'' ......Napoleon Hill (1883-1970).
This look is one of those "out of the box" looks for me. While I like it I also dislike it. Why do you think that is? I have been struggling with that question all day. One of the things I have tried to accomplish through this blog is to push my limits and I feel I have done it with this look. The question I guess is that after I push it a few times will I then get used to feeling "out of this box" and move onto another "box"?

We are always getting ready to live, but never living.....Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
Whew, it's been awhile...lets get back to it shall we.
I bought these neon pink tights last spring but never had the chance to wear them. I stared longingly at them all summer.Glad to finally bust them out, I feel so spunky wearing hot pink!!! It has been unseasonably warm here lately and while I am trying to embrace it and enjoy the extended fall we are having it just seems SOOOO weird. I shouldn't be able to go outside without a coat right now! For a girl who has lived here her entire life it is REALLY messing me up! I tried the side pony today, although I am not sure that my hair is long enough. I have yet to make any appointments reguarding my hair and my dilemma, I

Happy is the son whose faith in his mother remains unchallenged.....Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888)
Wow....I have been totally swamped and therefore a terrible blogger, mucho apologies.
I put this outfit together and thought it needed something. This tank is my first attempt at "hacking". I only dropped $2 on it at Target so I did what any good blogger would do and grabbed the scissors. While it is not a great DIY project I am fairly pleased with the outcome. Any tips for hacking?
I had to work at the school all day for "picture day" and was not able to go to dollar day at the thrift store...Boo-Hoo! I did pick up the most perfect popcorn knit, puff ball hat last week and am waiting for the weather to cooperate to display it's fabulousness! Stay Tuned!!!

Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired....Robert Frost (1875-1963)
More fly by blogging...SORRY! I am trying to get caught up today, but by the look of my calendar for the week, I'm pretty swamped this week too. For not having a job, I'm severely busy! Who knew three kids would add up to so much work. HA!! My jeans are more of a vibrant peachy color rather than the pukey peach color that shows up on my computer screen. Maybe it is better on your screen.
