NO! Not that Birthday suit! Get your minds out of the gutter! HA! I meant my birthday suit as in today is my Birthday!!!! 29 years of life on this earth, the last year of my twenties, what will I do with it? I have had this feeling in the pit of my stomach for the past week now prompting me to write a list of goals I would like to accomplish before I turn the big 3-0.... Not that 30 is a big deal but it seems to be the number I kept in my head where I thought I would have things figured out by.NOT SO! (Does anyone else do this?) I am grown up enough now to know that I will NEVER have everything figured out, that's just life, but I can always be better! I want to strive for the better everyday, which I know I haven't to my fullest potential up until this point. Life is short, and we only get out of it what we make of it.
I better go get started on that list....

ReplyDeletedont you love how, when youre a kid, you think 30 is completely adult, all-grown-up, and youll have the whole world all figured out by then? i AM 30 now, and, like you, ive realized that i will never have it "all figured out." when i was little, 30 seemed officially old. but now, i look at my mom, who is 70, and i realize that even she isnt old! it is all perspective. :)

ReplyDeleteas far as the 30 thing...i don't think i really thought much about accomplishments at that age. i was really excited to be entering a new decade agewise...but i didn't start thinking hard about goals/dreams/accomplishments until i got to be around 32 and of course, now. it's on my brain alot more often. maybe that's not entirely true...i started working towards my MBA when I was 28...but I guess I didn't realize until now how helpful it has been in changing my career path. i knew i was unhappy with my job and it was going nowhere in my 20s...but i had great difficulty at that time envisioning what the right next path would be for me. but now i'm on it. it was a really weird, interesting journey that was in part aided a great deal by my boyfriend, whom i've been with for only 16 months. he encourages me a lot and is a great sounding board for these concerns. plus he has wisdom and better career experience. so yeah. so for my ramblings!
