I'm treating you as a friend asking you to share my present minuses in the hope that I can ask you to share my future pluses....Katherine Mansfield (1888-1923)
It is my belief that a good pair of jeans could be a girls best friend. You know on those certain days when you just slip into them, they fit great and you feel confident...ok maybe it's just me but a good pair of jeans are next to gold in my book! When you pair them with a crisp white shirt it is just magic...on those certain days. This is one of those outfits that will NEVER get old...no matter what era, age, season, or style. LOVE IT!

Nifty Thrifty Wednesday
Belts are one thing I don't think you could ever have enough of...especially when you find triple toned beauties like this for $1.
Scarves are another one of my ongoing collections...this one reminded me of the upcoming holiday, plus I needed a black and white scarf. $1
I couldn't resist the sweet print of this skirt. We shall see if I decide to hem it to a shorter version (it even has pockets) or if I will wear it as a dress like I did here.
What do you think? $1
What is not to love here? I love the colors, the print and the thought of a caftan flowy sleeve thingy! $1
THRIFTY JACKPOT!
Dansko's are one of my favorite shoes, they are so comfy and perfect for warding off the snow and ice in the long winter months here. I have another pair this style that I have for over seven years. They are still as comfy as the day I bought them. I can live with a few scuffs for a savings of $119! The scuffs really look worse in the pics. These are in GREAT condition. Can you tell I'm STOKED!!! I found these Cute mary janes that usually retail for $125 for $6!!!!! Can I get a WOO - HOO?!?
Cute open toed heels + winter in AK = BRUISED butts!
ADVICE PLEASE.......
Outfit and Nifty Thrifty Wednesday later but for right now I would like to talk about hair...my hair!!! It is driving me BONKERS...CRAZY... INSANE! These days I'm feeling like I have a limp mop sitting on my head. I have no creativity or spunk when it comes to my hair, it is styled the EXACT same way EVERY day! UGHHH...can you sense my frustration? The problem is that I have NEVER, NOT ONCE had a good experience with bangs, I'm trying to grow my hair out, and I need it to be low maintenence. Yes, I realize that is a tall order but I think if anyone can help me with my dilemma it is all of you! I am not opposed to anything at this point...even AHEM....bangs. Did I just type that????
PLESE HELP...
What are your suggestions?
How do you think my hair would be best styled?
Bangs? BIG ones? Side ones? Thick ones? Thin ones?
Pictures would be welcomed with open arms!!!
Thanks!

Breakdowns can create breakthroughs. Things fall apart so things can fall together.
Just a quickie today.... It poured rain ALL day and I was feeling a wee bit yuck. Days like this call for my "comfort clothes" sorta the same as comfort food without the calories. Boyfriend jeans and a giant chuncky sweater.....

Many of the things you can count, don't count. Many of the things you can't count, really count.......Albert Einstein (1879-1955)
My outfit was a collaboration of inspiration from blogland... This morning I sat down to the computer with my cup of coffee, first I checked out my fellow alaskan blogger Delightfully Tacky and was awestruck by the spectacular neon green leggings she sewed herself. She sports them amazingly today...check her out! Then I meandered over to adored austin's sight to find a pic of me and an oh so sweet Thank you to all of us bloggers out here. I agree...you all are super sweet! She stated that I had formed a link in this style chain....then I remembered that she had posted this from another style chain that included the ever fashionable and uber-cool Krystal(who won these jeans in my giveaway)from this time tomorrow. She sports this look effortlessly! My brain was a churnin' but I knew that I had to do a "mommy friendly version" of this style chain, and so I continued on in my quest for inspiration in blogland and clicked on over to Domestic Sophisticate to see her look fabulous in this, and it all clicked! Voila....I finished my cup of coffee, read a

A man who dares to waste one hour of his life has not discovered the value of life.....Charles Darwin (1809-1882)
I was weraing different shoes when I went thrifting but as soon as I got into the car (I sprayed them with disinfectant lysol spray first...I have a travel size, and yes I have patience issues!) after purchasing these blue lovlies I had to put them on...They matched PERFECTLY! I am feeling that the vibe of this outfit got kicked up a notch with the shoes. What do you think, am I right or just totally smitten with my new shoes? I don't think these jeans have ever been on the blog. I usually use them as my lounge wear, they're "that pair" of jeans, you know the ones that are so worn in they feel like sweat pants. I am proud to say that I did not buy them with holes in them, each hole was worn in by me, myself, and I! I busted them out of the sweat pants category for the day, I think they compliment my awesome wool plaid shirt.

Nifty Thrifty Wednesday!
I have been admiring all of the little woven loafers everyone in blogland has been wearing lately. I was more than pleased when I saw these blue woven lovlies for $3.50!
I also picked up these sweet litle wedges. I love that they are both brown and black. The twisted leather and kitten wedge heel all made me swoon for only $3.50!
I couldn't resist these necklaces either......
beaded $2 pearl $5
I am always on the lookout for more belts. When I saw the red one I thought maybe it could go with this dress, after alterations of course. If I wore my flat blue loafers from above with my thrifted dress and belt...Can we say cute AND cheap!!!! The red belt was $1, and the fabulous buckle one was $2!

Ok this last piece I took a chance on a dollar....It needs some serious DIY work, and even then I am not sure if it can be saved. I would most definately need to fix the mega slit (there is only a slit on the one side...weird!) and shorten it. Add some tights, a jacket or maybe a bright turtleneck....HELP! Not sure why I bought it...It just sorta spoke to me and jumped in my bag! Can it be revived????
If you want a trait, act as if you already have the trait......William James (1842-1910)
Lately I've been a little bored with what is hanging in my closet, since I've started blogging I've become more aware of I want my "fashion statement" to be. The way I shop is changing and so is my style. It's apparent even in the short time I have been blogging.(Check out some of my first outfits posted) When I look back at this and this it makes me smile. It shows me that this blog is not just a social network and vain fashion (although I like that part too!), it's helping me to be more of the ME I want to be and who I want to portray to the world. That was the ultimate goal in the beginning so Thank You blogosphere, and all of you stylish lovlies out there who have complemented, encouraged, and criticized. Keep it up.... it is much appreciated.
As For my outfit today it is an adored austin inspired outfit. She sports this look perfectly, more than once! I've been meaning to try it since the first time I saw her wear it and then she posted another version last week so I pulled out what I had in my closet and I think it rather works! If you haven't checked her out you MUST click here now! She is seriously to funny, sweet, talented, stylish, cute, beautiful, (I better stop before she thinks I'm a weirdo:O) and creative to pass up!

Unintentionally, this outfit seems to be a casual version of this one. When I bought this blazer, this was the look I had in mind. I guess I need to stop perusing the J-Crew mag so often. I found myself at target today.(crazy I know!) I was there just to grab a few odds and ends but when I left there was another pair of mega sweet tights in my bag...weird. :)
Stay tuned...these may be even sweeter than the brown ones!

To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly.....Henri Bergson (1859-1941)

Where was I.....Oh yeah.... Sorry back to the leggings....I LOVE them now, I really can't get enough of them. They are soooooo comfortable! Lazy days and leggings go hand in hand in my book!
Also check out my shoes, I wasn't able to go thrifting this week because I was reconstructing my closet that day. I was pathetically suffering from nonshoppingitus so I mosied into Famous Footwear to try to suffice my illness with a little window shopping and lo and behold on the clearance rack were these babies for $5!!!!

Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go..... Oscar Wilde (1854-1900)
Can I get a shout out for these ridiculously AWESOME tights? WOO-HOO! New fall tights in the stores, can life get any better? I have been checking the tights section at Target religiously for a few weeks now, daydreaming what the new fall colors and designs would be. Yesterday did not disapoint! There are some amazing ones!!!! I NEED them all but limited myself to only these. If you have a target in your area you better go check them out. The only drawback with these new babies is that I was completely stressed the entire time I was putting them on or taking them off because I get the feeling a snag is seriously easy to come by and once one happened it would not be minor.... :(
